Honey Garlic Pork Chops

These honey garlic pork chops are tender, juicy, and coated in a sweet and savory glaze made with honey, garlic, soy sauce, and fresh rosemary. Searing the pork chops first creates a flavorful crust, while the homemade glaze adds the perfect balance of richness, sweetness, and a little heat.

Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops, about 1 inch thick
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 TBSP olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 TBSP soy sauce
  • 1 TBSP apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp fresh rosemary leaves, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

Method

  1. Prepare the pork chops: Pat the pork chops dry with a paper towel. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper, then sprinkle evenly with smoked paprika.
  2. Sear the pork chops: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and sear for 4–5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and lightly charred. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the honey garlic sauce: Reduce the heat to medium. Add the minced garlic to the same skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant. Stir in the honey, soy sauce, vinegar, rosemary, and red pepper flakes. Simmer the sauce for 2–3 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
  4. Finish the pork chops: Return the pork chops to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top, coating evenly. Continue cooking for 2–3 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F. Be careful not to overcook the pork chops, as they can become dry.
  5. Rest and serve: Remove the pork chops from the heat and allow them to rest for a few minutes before serving. Spoon extra honey garlic sauce over the top and enjoy.

Notes

Recipe Notes:
  • Use pork chops that are about 1 inch thick for the best results and juiciest texture.
  • Bone-in pork chops tend to stay more tender, but boneless pork chops work well too.
  • A meat thermometer is the best way to prevent overcooking pork.
