Strawberry Simple Syrup

This easy homemade strawberry syrup uses fresh strawberries, sugar, and water to make a naturally sweet, fruity syrup perfect for drinks, pancakes, waffles, and desserts. Thickened naturally with pectin from the berries, this syrup is easy to make, store, and enjoy year-round.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water

Method
 

  1. In a small saucepan, add fresh strawberries, water, and sugar.
  2. Stir and bring to a boil on medium-high heat.
  3. Once boiling and the sugar is dissolved, lower the heat and simmer for about 10-15 minutes stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
  4. Remove from heat. Strain syrup from the strawberries using a fine mesh strainer.
  5. Pour in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month. Enjoy!
