Ingredients

  • 2 cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter- barely melted but not too hot
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar- packed
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups chocolate chips or add-ins of your choice

Equipment

  • 1 Stand Mixer

Method

  1. In a small bowl, heat the butter in a microwave for about 20 seconds until it is soft and slightly melted but not fully. Set aside to cool.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and baking soda. Set aside.
  3. In a stand mixer, combine the sugars, butter, vanilla, and apple cider vinegar. Beat until smooth.
  4. Add in the egg and mix until just combined. Stir in the chips and other add-in of your choice.
  5. Chill the dough for 30 minutes. Then, using a cookie scoop, drop by rounded tablespoons onto a parchment or silicon mat lined baking sheet spacing each cookie 3 inches apart.
  6. Bake at 375 degrees for about 9-11 minutes. The edges will be golden brown and the middles will look slightly underdone. They will continue to cook while cooling.
  7. Allow to sit for one minute on the cookie sheet before moving to a cooling rack. If you are sprinkling sea salt on top, now is the time to do that. Enjoy!!

Notes

Storage Tips:
  1. Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze for longer storage.
  2. You can store the cookie balls in the freezer for later baking.
  3. Adding a slice of bread into the container with your cookies will keep them from drying out in the refrigerator.
