Our Manor on Main
Small Space, Big Dreams: Homesteading, DIY, and creating a cozy life.
The other night I woke up at 3 a.m. overwhelmed and ended up in prayer… thinking about Ruth, about provision, and about all the “wheat” God has placed in my own life during some of my hardest seasons.![]()
The next day, in the quiet of our garden… I found something I wasn’t expecting.![]()
And it stopped me in my tracks.![]()
Sometimes God doesn’t always give answers right away. Sometimes He leaves reminders.![]()
Little ones. Right where we’ll notice them.![]()
If you’re in a waiting season, I hope this encourages you today.![]()

I’ve been using freshly milled flour for about a year and a half now, and it has completely changed the way I bake.![]()
There’s a deeper flavor to everything, and I love knowing that the flour I’m using is truly fresh and full of the nutrients that are naturally found in the grain. A lot of store-bought flour sits on shelves for long periods of time and is often bleached or heavily processed, but freshly milled flour feels much closer to the way it was originally intended to be used.![]()
I can honestly tell a difference in how I feel after eating it too!![]()
But beyond all of that, milling flour at home has made me feel more connected to the process of baking itself. Watching whole grains turn into soft flour right in your own kitchen is kind of amazing. It slows things down a bit and makes homemade bread, muffins, pancakes, and pastries feel even more special.![]()
After being sold out and waitlisted for months, my grain mill is finally back in stock again! If you’ve been wanting to start baking with fresh-milled flour, now is probably the perfect time 🤍![]()
I linked the one I use in the comments 💕
There was this stained glass window in the cabin bathroom that I keep replaying in my mind.![]()
It was old and beautiful, with a simple little latch. Every morning, I would open it and the forest would come alive. Birds singing, fresh air rolling in, and soft light glowing across the log walls. It was one of those small, quiet moments that stays with you.![]()
That weekend at the cabin was full of them.![]()
Cornhole games in the yard. Campfires at night. Hikes through the woods. Cooking together. Laughing. Resting. Just being together as a family without rushing anywhere.![]()
It felt restorative in a way I didn’t realize I needed.![]()
And it reminded me of something I think we all forget sometimes. We can get so focused on building the life we want that we forget to actually live the one we already have.![]()
The kids are growing. Time is moving. Everything is changing faster than we realize.![]()
I’m really grateful we took that pause. Those are the kinds of memories that last.
This Instant Pot Mississippi Pot Roast is one of those recipes that earns a permanent spot in the dinner rotation 🤍 ![]()
It’s both delicious AND versatile! ![]()
This recipe is cozy, comforting, incredibly easy, and the leftovers might be even better than the original meal.![]()
We love serving it over mashed potatoes for dinner, then using the leftover shredded beef for:
• toasted Swiss sliders
• tacos or enchiladas
• barbecue sandwiches with pickles
• easy summer lunches
• simple meals for guests![]()
If you’re hosting friends this summer, making sandwiches with the leftover roast and my homemade barbecue sauce is SUCH an easy crowd-pleaser.![]()
The best part? The Instant Pot does most of the work for you. 🙌![]()
I’ll link both recipes in the comments ✨
Taco night at home just hits differently. 🌮![]()
These Instant Pot pork carnitas are one of my favorite dinners because they feel impressive, but they’re actually incredibly easy to make! You can throw everything together, let the Instant Pot work its magic, and use that time to prep the fresh corn salsa and toppings.![]()
The result? Tender, juicy pork packed with warm spices and bright citrus flavor without standing in the kitchen all day.![]()
And honestly… the homemade Mexican corn salsa is what makes this recipe unforgettable. Then add in creamy avocado, lime juice, cilantro to add balance to the rich pork. Chef’s kiss. 🤌![]()
We love serving these in homemade sourdough tortillas, classic corn tortillas, taco bowls over rice, or even over fresh greens for a lighter option.![]()
Pair it with a cold strawberry kefir lemonade or margarita, gather everyone around the table, and you’ve got yourself a cozy little five-star dinner at home. ✨
I will link these recipes in the comments below 👇![]()
This is one of those meals that feels perfect for summer evenings with family and friends.![]()
