The Perfect Cilantro Lime Crema
Let me introduce to you the perfect cilantro lime crema recipe. Zesty lime is beautifully paired with fresh cilantro, creamy avocado, and jalapeño peppers to create a delectable sauce that will take your mexican entrees to the next level. It is delicious on tacos, burritos, salads, fajitas, and more!

What is Crema?
Crema is a sauce typically used in Mexican dishes in place of sour cream. It is not as thick, usually more of a runny texture, and great for drizzling the top of tacos, burritos, nachos, and more. It is not as spicy as my recipe for Chipotle sauce but equally as delicious! This is absolutely fantastic on fish tacos!
Crema can be made several different ways and usually has a creamy base like buttermilk, mayonnaise, or yogurt. In my version, I opt for the probiotic benefits of kefir combined with the creaminess of avocado. This recipe sauce packs a punch of both taste and nutrition.

Ingredients for The Perfect Cilantro Lime Crema
Cilantro
This favor note is a key component in this recipe. Fresh is best!!
Lime Juice
This adds a zesty and sour tang to the sauce.
Avocado
This healthy fat adds a delightful creaminess to the mixture.
Jalapeño
Jalapeños add just a touch of heat. This recipe calls for 1 jalapeño however you may add more or keep the seeds to increase spiciness.
Kefir
This element adds healthy probiotics and tanginess to the sauce.
Mayonnaise
Mayonnaise adds tang and increases the thickness of the crema.
Salt
Salt can be added to your preferences.

How to Make The Perfect Cilantro Lime Crema
- First, add mayonnaise to a blender and top with fresh cilantro.
- Next, add in avocado then sliced jalapeño.

3. Then, pour in kefir, lime juice, and top with salt. Blend ingredients together until smooth.

To serve, drizzle over fajitas and tacos, add inside of burritos, or use as a topping for nachos. Enjoy!

- 1 Blender
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
- 1 Bunch Fresh Cilantro
- 1 Jalapeño, sliced
- 1 Avocado
- 2 Limes, juiced
- 1/4 cup Kefir
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a blender and mix until smooth. If mixture is too thick, add water or lime juice to achieve desired thinness. Serve over tacos, burritos, nachos, or fajitas.
