Creamy Chocolate Avocado Pudding – A Simple, Decadent Treat
There’s something so satisfying about a dessert that feels indulgent but is actually simple, wholesome, and downright good for you. This chocolate avocado pudding has quickly become a favorite in our home—especially when I want a little something sweet without the heaviness of traditional desserts. It’s rich, creamy, and just the right amount of chocolatey goodness.
And here’s the kicker—it’s the best way I know to use up avocados that are this close to being tossed. You know how they go from “not ripe yet” to “better eat me right this second” to “oh no, it’s over” in what feels like five minutes? (Seriously, avocados have zero chill.) This recipe is the perfect save. Instead of tossing them, you turn them into chocolate pudding. That’s what I call a win.
I first made this on a quiet Sunday afternoon when I spotted a few avocados that were a little too far gone for toast. I thought, “Well, it’s either pudding or the compost bin,” and let me tell you—pudding won. One blender later, I had a velvety, decadent treat that felt like a little gift to myself… without any guilt.

Ingredients
- 4 ripe avocados
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cacao powder
- 1/3 cup plus 2 tablespoons milk of your choice (almond, oat, or regular—whatever you like!)
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt

Instructions
- Scoop the flesh from your ripe avocados into a blender.
- Add the cacao powder, milk, maple syrup, vanilla, and a pinch of salt.
- Blend until smooth, stopping to scrape down the sides if needed. (If your blender groans a little, just cheer it on—you’re almost there.)
- Pour into serving dishes and chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. (If you can wait that long!)
- Serve as-is, or top with a sprinkle of cacao nibs, fresh berries, or a dollop of whipped cream for a little extra indulgence.

This pudding is rich enough that a small serving goes a long way. I love that it’s made entirely from simple ingredients I almost always have on hand. It’s naturally sweetened, silky, and satisfying—a treat you can feel good about enjoying.
Whether you’re looking for a healthier dessert, a make-ahead snack, or a way to sneak more avocado into your day, this pudding is a winner. And honestly, it feels like a little kitchen magic—taking those “oops, too ripe” avocados and transforming them into something decadent.
I like to keep a little jar in the fridge (honestly these are my favorite. I use them for everything!) for those afternoons when a chocolate craving hits. It feels like having a secret stash of indulgence waiting for you—except this one won’t make you feel sluggish afterward.

If you try this, I’d love to hear how you like it! Do you add a little crunch on top, or do you prefer it plain and creamy? Either way, I promise this pudding will remind you that sometimes the simplest recipes are the sweetest.
XO,
Bri
